Wonderful Story Traveled to Ratu Boko Temple

Sunday morning me and my husband planned go vacation to Candi Ratu Boko (Ratu Boko Temple). we live in the city of Yogyakarta, so our trip to the ratu boko temple estimated to be about 1 hour. We went from home at nine o’clock and arrived at the location at ten o'clock. When we arrived, we were greeted with a beautiful view because the temple is located on the hill. The front before the entrance gate of the temple, there is a welcome board “KERATON RATU BOKO” (ratu boko palace). This temple called palace because in fact this building is a former royal palace of the boko queen.




there is a restaurant in front of the temple, here the tourists can enjoy a meal while watching the sunset. wooow....it's very cool...


After enjoying a meal in the restaurant and do a photo shoot, we began to enter the temple gate. But before arriving the gate of the temple, we find the site map boards of Ratu Boko Tample. The site map is very helpful for tourists to exploring all corners of the temple.


To arrive at the temple gate, we had to climb dozens of stairs because the temple at the peak of the hill. there are three entrance gates, one as main gate with a large size, and two small gates on the left and right beside the main gate.


After being in the temple, we're seeing the former palace building is very large, with lots of buildings and a large garden. imagine the great royal boko queen in earlier times. There are many buildings like the former palace of the queen, the reception building, the meeting building, etc. It's very beautiful palace...


Brief History of Istana Ratu Boko (Boko Queen Palace)

Istana Ratu Boko is located in Sleman district, Yogyakarta, Indonesia not far from Prambanan temple,  has a land area of ​​about 16 hectares and above a hill at an altitude of 196 meters from sea level. This palace is a complex empire led by a queen named boko.

Kraton Ratu Boku built around the 8th century during the Sailendra dynasty. This palace is a relic of Hindu and Buddhist, first time was found by Van Boeckholzt in 1790. Now Istana Ratu Boko is one of the wonders of the world were recognized by UNESCO since 1995.
